Scott A. Scherff

Scott is Of-Counsel in Day Ketterer’s Canton office. Prior to joining the firm, Scott spent his entire career at The Timken Company where he was most recently Vice President of Ethics & Compliance, and Corporate Secretary.

During his more than 30 year tenure at Timken, Scott was responsible for legal matters involving ethics, compliance, employment law, anti-trust issues, and corporate governance. He regularly worked with company executives and business leaders to educate them on complex compliance, ethical issues and strategic operational compliance risks. Scott was instrumental in the formation and guidance of the company’s effective compliance program. He assisted with implementation of processes to ensure proper employee classification, wage and hour compliance, and other programs to ensure compliance with federal and state law. Under his leadership Timken was honored by Ethisphere as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies four of the past five years.

In addition to Scott’s extensive ethics and compliance experience, he was also responsible for the company’s internal human resource investigations and guidance of the company’s HR hotline through which he advised the company’s HR personnel with calls related to sexual harassment, kickback issues and investigation of these issues.
