Jude Belden Streb

Jude is a skilled litigator with more than 15 years of experience representing energy and public utilities companies, insurance providers, construction firms and many other northeast Ohio businesses, as well as individuals in need of representation and advice.

He works to keep his clients out of court whenever possible.  When this is unavoidable, Jude aggressively represents his clients, trying numerous cases to verdict and handling many appeals to State and Federal Appellate Courts and the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Jude has successfully litigated numerous complex matters on behalf of his clients related to business disputes, commercial and contract litigation, construction litigation, Civil Rights violations and oil and gas disputes. In addition, he has defended a number of northeast Ohio businesses, national insurance companies and their insureds against claims including:

Jude is a graduate of Hoover High School in North Canton and currently resides in North Canton with his wife Devina and their three sons.

  • Successfully defeated the Plaintiffs’ Motion for Class Certification in a case against a Summit County auto dealer involving Federal and state lending law claims. Givens v. Van Devere, Inc. 5:11-cv-666
  • Successfully represented a Stark County mental health care provider against claims of civil rights violations under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, including failure to train and supervise, wrongful death and medical malpractice. Galloway v. Stark County, et al. 5:09-cv-02834
  • Jude convincingly argued a complicated case before The Ohio Supreme Court involving insurance coverage claims and the constitutional issue of equal protection and obtained a favorable ruling for Motorists Mutual Insurance Company. Burnett v. Motorists Mutual Ins. Co., Slip Opinion No. 2008 - Ohio -2751.
