Danielle A. Higgins

Danielle is a corporate attorney in the firm’s Canton office. Her practice focuses on business transactions, business counseling and non-profit law. 

Danielle works with a number of closely held and public companies, financial institutions, healthcare organizations, private funds, registered investment advisors, school districts and nonprofit organizations in connection with a wide variety of corporate governance, compliance and transactional matters. She has counseled clients throughout Ohio on complex corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, public and private debt and equity offerings, public finance transactions, corporate organization, joint ventures, commercial finance, executive compensation and commercial contracting. She also works closely with these clients to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations in the areas of securities, corporate governance, secured transactions, health care and data security.

While in law school, Danielle was a judicial extern for the Honorable John R. Adams of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio. Prior to joining Day Ketterer, she served as project director for a multi-million dollar National Institutes of Health medical research study conducted by Johns Hopkins University, The University of Akron and Summa Health System. In addition, she has co-authored several articles that have appeared in medical and health journals, and she has presented at international health care conferences throughout the United States.

Danielle currently resides in Canton with her husband Dan, daughter Caroline, and three rescue dogs.

  • Advising manufacturing client on structuring and executing new executive compensation plan, including stock appreciation right plan, incentive stock plan and employment agreements
  • Advising healthcare client regarding investment and participation in joint venture with large health system
  • Advising start-up biotechnology company in raising over $5 million through private equity offering
  • Assisting public bank client in $350 million public debt offering on Form S-3
